Nepal’s Interim Cabinet Sees Two New Ministerial Appointments |
On October 26, 2025, Prime Minister Sushila Karki administered the oath of office to her interim cabinet, which included two new ministerial appointments. Dr. Sudha Sharma Gautam and Bablu Gupta were sworn in as ministers by President Ramchandra Paudel at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas.
New Ministerial Appointments:
-
Dr. Sudha Sharma Gautam: Minister for Health and Population
-
Bablu Gupta: Minister for Youth and Sports
Changes to the Original Plan:
Prime Minister Karki had initially intended to induct four new ministers. However, the appointments of Khagendra Sunar and Ganpatilal Shrestha were withdrawn at the last moment:
-
Khagendra Sunar: His nomination for the Labor Ministry was withdrawn following the revelation of pending legal cases against him.
-
Ganpatilal Shrestha: His name was retracted after he reportedly expressed dissatisfaction with his assigned portfolio of Land Management, as he had hoped to be appointed to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.
